Everything you need for a temple cow

Before leaving Mumbai, we had time to visit a couple of temples. That is an amazing feature of India. There are always many temples to be visited. And they are busy places. People are coming throughout the day to give their devotions.

I noticed the grass on the bench and asked what it was for. Then someone pointed out the nice cow and caretaker.

A temple cow should have grass, water, and a caretaker.

Mr. Indra Mohan stopped by the Chananda Cultural Society ashram today.

Mr. Mohan had given Sanskrit mantras for years. But he always felt there must be more…an inner path uniting the world religions.

One day about five years ago, he came twenty-five kilometers for a walk in the park across the street from the ashram. And there he found a sign for a workshop on the violet flame to be given by Jaspal. He called the number and talked to Poonam. The Summit Lighthouse teachings were just what he was looking for. Ever since he has been giving the Monday night Violet Flame service for two hours…along with his Sanskrit mantras.

In Mumbai, Poonam had her first view of the ocean. In this case, the Arabian Sea.
The temple we visited had seven floors. We paid to take an elevator to the top, and then walked down. Each floor had different deities depicted. Lord Shiva and his consort, Parvati, were on the top floor.
Eventually, we came to the floor where the ten incarnations of Vishnu were depicted. Vishnu represents the aspect of the son in the Hindu trinity—father, son, and and Holy Spirit. The last incarnation on the far right (Kalki) is meant to be the second coming of the Vishnu consciousness that will manifest in us.

    Lois your Blog is wonderful! Great pictures of Vishnus and the shiny cow and his food and water.
