Last Sunday I went out for a hike to the cross at the top of the hill behind my house, and I was delighted to find what is not a big deal to most of you: moss

The sage was everywhere, and smelled fresh and wonderful. I am not happy about floods, damage, injuries, or loss of life, of course. But I am grateful for the rain.

    Thank you, Lois, your post reminds me of when we lived in the desert west of Los Angeles (Yucca Valley). One very rare year we had a lot of rain and the whole desert floor was carpeted with gorgeous colorful flowers of all shapes, many grasses, and flowering cacti (no moss though😉). I love Nancy’s analogy!

    Lovely pictures and liked your hat and scarf too! I often like to go to a little treasure of a book given to me by my grand-
    mother which gives the meaning of plants and flowers and moss is maternal love. It is said that the moss that covered the cross of King Oswald of Northumbria worked many miracles after that monarch’s death and the Golden Moss of
    the Druids was a protection agains unearthly creatures and
    black magic.
