The Finnish Flame of Freedom Burns Brightly at Summit University

Finland–what a beautiful place for a spiritual retreat! We are in the middle of our mystical studies of “The Path of the Bodhisattva: Develop the Compassionate Heart–with Kuan Yin and Gautama Buddha.”

One of my most  inspiring memories of Finland from when I lived here 40 years ago is how the Finnish celebrate their freedom. On December 6, everyone places two candles in their windows.  So as you walk through town on a cold winter night, all the windows are glowing in the silence with the flame of freedom! That flame truly burns in the hearts of the Finnish people. And this year, Finland celebrates 100 years of freedom.

Here at Summit University, we are also celebrating freedom. Freedom from what? Freedom from non-forgiveness. Freedom from all that keeps us from becoming all we can be as sons and daughters of God.

Together we go deep in prayer, study, and contemplation. Plus we have fun!

Thank you, Finland, for being a quiet example of strength, determination, and warm hearts for the world.
