What I learned behind the blue door

imageFirst, I had a great day today in Moscow with Elena. As you may know from an earlier blog, I needed some clothing for this part of the trip. We ended up shopping in a tiny cubbyhole off of a main subway station. Ladies were pouring in and out of this cubbyhole and I was trying on trousers behind the counter very discreetly. Elena was the guard. It was hilarious. But I got what I needed. This picture is of Elena on our rainy day in Moscow.

Now, back to the blue door and the Tibetan Buddhist center. The representative there reminded us that what you put your attention on is where your consciousness will be. So if you’re angry and you focus your attention on the source of your anger that is where your thoughts and emotions can be tied up. He has learned to focus his consciousness on his breath and he has found that it has helped him get through those angry times without pushing the anger to subconscious levels.image

Someone asked about how the chakras are involved and I realized the importance of the teachings of the ascended masters in understanding the function of the seven energy centers. I have found this little book to be an invaluable tool. It has helped me understand how the chakras affect my mind and body and those around me.

For example, the ascended masters recommend that we focus on the four chakras from the heart to the crown (heart, throat, third eye, and crown.) This is important to know when dealing with anger and fear. These emotions are often felt in the solar plexus. That is an important chakra to gain mastery over. The book gives some easy ideas on how to develop our chakras and use them to their greatest potential. Let me know how you like it.

I thought about the seven energy centers a lot while hiking in Ireland and sometimes I imagined the light going through my feet into the earth and the earth sending light throughout.  I think the little man was happy about that!

    Wonderful reminders. Mahalo.
And – what is the pink and turquoise on the sheep? In back of your Little Man? Aloha.

Good observation! I wondered the same thing. And the answer is, I don’t know. But almost all the sheep have it. So it must be some kind of standard marking. Any shepherds know the answer?

Excellent!!! I did a meditation at church once on the line in “It’s a Wonderful Life” in which George gives her the moon. She says she would swallow the moon (like this):

George Bailey: What is it you want, Mary? What do you want? You want the moon? Just say the word and I’ll throw a lasso around it and pull it down. Hey. That’s a pretty good idea. I’ll give you the moon, Mary.
Mary Hatch Bailey: I’ll take it. Then what?
George Bailey: Well, then you can swallow it, and it’ll all dissolve, see… and the moonbeams would shoot out of your fingers and your toes and the ends of your hair…

So I said that communion is like swallowing the moon because you shoot it out and share it with the world.

Glad you found some clothes even if you had to change behind a counter. Very wonderful to hear all of your adventures. xoxoxo

I LOVE what you shared with the congregation and how you took it from “It’s a Wonderful Life.” That was so creative! I think we all want to send beams of light. What a better world it would be!
