Time for fish and chips

Didnt get up until 11:30 this morning. Yay. How often does that happen?

Walked all over Dublin. My phone says 8.57 miles thus far and I have to get home. Could walk but am determined to try my bus pass. That way I can really get lost.

Tomorrow I going to take the train. Watch out. Isn’t it great you can do this all online before you leave home? Iarnrod Eireann is the train line. Who wants to come along next year?

A few picture highlights of the day:

United States Ambassador’s Residence built in 1774.  The Irish surely helped to build America!

Homemade apple tart after the fish and chips at Fisciardi’s of Capel Street. The cook was Italian, the waitress was Brazilian, the customers were Irish plus me, and John Denver music was playing  in the background. Food was delicious. Note the take-home box says, “Fish and chips–the nation’s most treasured dish.”

I met a young woman today when she asked me directions.  She was from Switzerland. As we walked through the huge Phoenix Park, she commented on how she really enjoys traveling alone. I agreed with her. It’s something everyone should try now and then. Here you meet so many fine people. I feel right at home. What a great day.

Wow! Lois !! This is so great to be travelling along with you.
What possessed you to travel to Ireland/Dublin?? The couple of landscape pictures look almost etheric, so clean. That is so cool and kind for you to engage us in your travels. I’m heading to Birmingham this weekend for the Birmingham March for Life. Do you have time on your trip to stop in Wales on your return or itinerary? jaygrace@talktalk.net
