First, you need a ferry because when the tide is in, as you can see, you cannot get from the end of this foot bridge to dry land. So you have to go to the ferry terminal and café. Here’s my walking companion, Candy, showing the way.

It’s £1.2 per person to get across and there are a lot of people who want to get across. But we were first. Here is the ferry.

While you are waiting for the tide to come in enough for the boat to go, you might as well go in the cafe and have a scone with cream, jam, and coffee.

Some of you may remember the hiking markers decorated with a little man to show you the way on Ireland’s Sheep’s Head Way Trail. Sadly, Cornwall does not have little man markers. Now I must look for an acorn.

Do you remember from yesterday what a “kissing gate” is?

All in all a great day: rained on us twice, we almost blew away, and we managed nine miles. Not bad.
Candy’s hat is nicer than mine because she soaked it in concentrated Jello to make the brim stiff. Can you believe it? So far it has not attracted bees either! Tomorrow we are diagramming maps to our many pockets and knapsacks so we can remember where we put everything.
